Student ID Card Photo Guidelines

Student ID Photo Requirements

To ensure all student ID cards have a consistent and professional appearance, please upload a recent photo that follows the requirements below.

Important: Photos that do not meet these requirements may be rejected and students may be asked to submit a new photo.

1. Basic Composition

  • Photo must be head-and-shoulders only.
  • Face must be centered and looking straight at the camera.
  • Both eyes must be clearly visible.
  • Please maintain a natural or neutral expression.

2. Background

  • Use a plain white or light solid background.
  • No patterns, decorations, objects, or other people in the background.
  • Avoid strong shadows behind the head or shoulders.

3. Lighting and Photo Quality

  • Photo must be clear, sharp, and not blurry.
  • Use even lighting across the face.
  • Avoid dark shadows, overexposure, or very dim photos.
  • Do not apply filters, beauty effects, or heavy editing.

  • Aspect Ratio: Portrait (recommended 3:4 or 4:5)
  • Minimum Size: 600 × 800 pixels
  • Preferred Size: 900 × 1200 pixels or higher
  • Note: Photo will be cropped to fit ID card size (0.8″ × 1.05″)
  • Accepted Formats: JPG or PNG
  • Maximum File Size: 2 MB

5. Face Positioning

  • The face should occupy approximately 60% to 75% of the image height.
  • Leave a small amount of space above the head.
  • Shoulders should be slightly visible.
  • Do not crop too closely to the face.

6. Dress and Appearance

  • Wear regular, neat clothing.
  • No sunglasses.
  • No hats or caps unless worn for religious reasons.
  • Make sure the face is fully visible.

7. Photo Orientation

  • Please upload a portrait-style photo.
  • Do not submit landscape or side-angle photos.

8. File Naming

Please save the image using your Student ID number or Name as the filename.

9. Important Notes

  • Submit a recent photo.
  • Do not send group photos, selfies with distracting backgrounds, or cropped casual photos.
  • Photos that do not meet the above requirements may be rejected and need to be resubmitted.

10. Quick Summary

Your photo should be a recent, clear, square headshot with a plain light background, proper lighting, and your face centered. Please name the file using your Student ID number.
