The Cannabis Plant Science Certificate is a one-day intensive training program that provides a foundational understanding of the cannabis plant, its therapeutic benefits, and its biological functions. This course explores the plant’s potential in treating various medical conditions, its legal availability for therapeutic use, and the mechanisms by which cannabinoids interact with the human endocannabinoid system. Participants will gain insights into plant biology, including anatomy, cellular structures, plant growth hormones, and the functional significance of different plant parts. The program also delves into the science behind phytocannabinoids and terpenes, emphasizing their combined roles in modulating therapeutic outcomes. Designed to support career development in cannabis cultivation, extraction, and quality assurance, the training is highly interactive, offering opportunities for direct engagement with instructors to clarify concepts or address questions.

Program Offer

Register for any three certificate programs at NACPT and receive any available one-day training free of charge. All participants will receive a Certificate of Completion upon successfully finishing the training program. This course includes seven detailed modules. The curriculum begins with the exploration of cannabis’s therapeutic properties and the medical conditions it may help treat. It then addresses the legal framework for the medical use of cannabis, how cannabis interacts with the human body, and the scientific principles behind plant growth and development. Later modules provide a deep dive into plant hormones, the endocannabinoid system, and the biochemical role of cannabinoids and terpenes. Each module is crafted to provide both scientific knowledge and practical relevance to the cannabis industry.Upon completing the course, participants will have a clear understanding of the history and nature of cannabis plants, be able to identify plant anatomy and functionality, differentiate between cannabis strains, and explain how cannabinoids affect the body. These learning outcomes prepare students for various roles in the industry, such as cultivation technicians, extraction technologists, quality assurance personnel, master growers, and assistant master growers.
