NACPT is one of Canada’s first colleges to be the first approved as a vocational program under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005 of training to introduce Cannabis Post-secondary diploma credentials widely accepted by the Canadian and International Cannabis industry and regulatory standards. The legalization and commercialization of cannabis have increased demand for Quality Assurance Person, Quality Control Analysts, Quality Assurance consultants, Quality Assurance Coordinators, QA Auditors and other QA/QC related jobs in Canada. Successful completion of this nine-month cannabis diploma program will provide students with career-related skills and knowledge on cannabis Good Production Practices (GPP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), QA auditing, QC cannabis testing, cannabis scientific technical writing, cannabis quality assurance systems, quality management systems (QMS), and cannabis regulatory framework. The program also covers a wide range of topics, including GPP/GMP regulatory requirements, how cannabinoids and terpenes work on human systems, anatomy and plant functionality of cannabis, cannabis analytical testing requirements, biotechnological cannabinoid production process, tissue culture, development of standard operating procedures (SOP) for the cannabis industry, HPLC, GC and Dissolution testing systems and software, cannabis licensing process, audit and inspection and all the related regulatory requirements for cannabis.
The NACPT faculty are highly experienced professionals from the industry who have an extensive understanding of current industry trends in cannabis quality control and quality assurance. Hands-on experience is provided through quality control training, industrial workshops, guest speakers’ sessions, field trips, case studies, and internship opportunities for successful career placement.

NACPT offers its unique optional job development program for all graduates for free. In this program, graduates will get an opportunity to work with a career coach individually to obtain the maximum job opportunities in industrial cannabis production. As part of the job development program, the career development team will help each NACPT graduate tailor the resume, prepare for interviews, attend mock interviews, connect with industry experts, internship, company recruitments, and have exclusive access to the job market. This Job Assistance Program has been designed by NACPT to help the students prepare a career plan knowing the industry better through expert advice.

Eligible individuals are those who have been laid-off on or after January 1, 2005 – including Employment Insurance (EI) active claimants, EI “reach backs,” and non-EI-eligible individuals – who require skills training for employment in-demand occupations in Ontario.
“A Laid-off worker” is an individual who has been laid off on or after January 1, 2005, including someone:
Who are still unemployed
Who has taken one or more interim jobs but still unemployed
Who has taken one or more interim jobs and currently employed in it
Who is receiving a salary continuance (Salary continuance is a payment from the company to the laid-off workers for a designated period of time along with some or all benefits of them)
Who is on severance payment (Severance payment is the compensation paid to the laid-off workers because of their job loss and related benefits)
