The ESL International Program offers different levels to support foreign students in improving their English language skills, focusing on speaking, writing, listening, and written communication. The program is delivered in person. The Beginners to Advanced Level spans 24 weeks and covers levels 3, 4, and 5. This comprehensive course helps students progress from basic to advanced proficiency. The Intermediate and Advanced Level combines levels 4 and 5 over 12 weeks, designed for students aiming to integrate basic to advanced grammar and communication skills. The Advanced Level program, which lasts 8 weeks, is Level 5 and serves as a prerequisite for enrollment in academic vocational diploma programs for temporary residents in Canada. It focuses on intermediate to advanced grammar and communication skills. Courses include Grammar at Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Levels, Academic Development, and Receptive Skills, each building on prior knowledge and often requiring a prerequisite course or language test. The curriculum addresses pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension of oral and written texts, note-taking, oral presentations, paragraph writing, and preparation for exams such as IELTS. An adjunct course offers receptive skill development alongside a discipline-specific course for non-native English speakers, emphasizing listening and reading comprehension. Certificates are awarded at the completion of the Beginners and Intermediate levels, supporting progression through the ESL levels.
